Hunting in Ohio with a Savage Model 42.

I'm in the search for a Model 24 because I've always liked the concept, and will own one at some point in time no matter what.. I'm wondering if anyone has had any issues with ODNR/Game Warden using one to hunt before. The law states one hunting implement at at time, and I would be using a single gun. I'm sure if I was deer hunting with it, I couldn't have rifle ammo in the gun or my bag, but beyond that, it would be nice to walk through the woods with and have a bit of flexibility.

It's considered one implement, so no ODNR issue there. As for deer hunting, don't carry any ammo for the rifle barrel unless it's in a caliber legal to deer hunt with (i.e. .357 Magnum). One thing to note, most of the Model 24 shotgun barrels were full choke so they're not ideal for slugs.
