Is it in a replacement aftermarket stock? The bolt handle notch may not be deep enough in it. Also check the bolt lug recesses for dirt/debris.
Hello
I recently traded for a Savage 110E 30-06 the rifle shoots great all seems well. Although I have noticed the bolt handle does not rotate all the way down when the bolt is closed. The bolt locks in allowing the rifle to fire, just does not look right to me.
If anyone has any information on this I would be grateful.
Thanks AWOL

Also check the front action screw. On mine it protruded in far enuf to bind on the bolt.

Thanks, I will check it out. The stock notch sees plenty deep enough, that is what started me looking, the bolt handle only goes one third of the way down into the notch.
thanks for all the info problem solved found the culprit to be screw for front scope rail.
Thanks awol
Could very well be a scope mount screw then as "Tom Thomson" said.
