The wife and I were lucky enough to draw a tag together this year and she did amazing. She goes shooting with me every weekend and participates in our local prairie dog matches and does very well for herself. The practice really paid off this weekend as she took her first buck at 824 yards with her Savage 110 in .25-06. We hunted hard all week and finally found this small buck about 8:00am on the last day of the hunt. I told her to find a spot and get comfortable while I get a range on the buck. Once she found the buck in the scope I had her dial 14 MOA for an 800 yard shot to account for the slight down hill angle and to take a couple of deep breaths and relax. She told me she was ready and as soon as I said send it the rifle barked and the deer bucked and took about 10 wobbly steps before tumbling down hill and piled up in some brush. She hit him perfecrtly right behind the front shoulder and the bullet exited the off side shoulder leaving about an inch and a half diameter exit wound.
