Newbie .308

Just wanted to say hi and brag about my rifle. I bought a Savage FCNS in .308, accustock, accutrigger, my first center-fire rifle. Added a Redfield 4X12 scope, less than $700 in the whole outfit. I started out with Federal 150 gr FMJ and was really disappointed with 8" groups. I started loading my own and after less then 100 rounds, out of 5 rounds of 125 gr Speer HP, 46 gr of 4064, 4 were touching and one was 1/4 inch away. I'm so happy with my Savage and the confidence it instills. Knowing you are going to hit where you aim is something I never experienced before. This site is great too.

I have, but neither 168's or 150's Nosler BT seems to group as well as 125's HP with IMR 4064. Oh well, that's part of the fun, finding out what works in your gun.
