I have a savage model 1899 c. The lettering seems to be filled in with white any ideas on how to remove the white? I was also wondering if anyone knows if all levers on the 1899 c were case colored?
Thanks

Try some gun cleaning solvent on the letters, then scrub it with an old toothbrush. You could also use a bronze-bristle gun-cleaning brush too, if the toothbrush doesn't get it all. For any white remaining in the corners, use a magnifying glass and a sharp toothpick to pick it out.
Others will have to help with your 2nd question.

1899C's should have a case colored lever, you don't see it a lot due to wear so the gun wasn't used a lot, nice grab.
Savage- "never say never".
