    Hog hunter here from Charleston,SC

Ive been hunting hogs for about 9 years now and cant get enough! Most of the time Im shooting a Taurus raging Bull .454 handgun or a Marlin 45-70.

Getting ready to buy a model 111 in 30-06 with a big Meopta scope on top for that late afternoon long shot.

I will shoot a deer if it gets in the way too.....

    Thanks guys!!

tufrthnails, I have shot everything money can buy (Factory loads) in my .454 TRB and have found that the Magtech 260Gr semi jacket flat nose to be the most accurate, and hard hitting on the hogs and deer.

I have the factory scope base on it with a burris elite 2x6x32mm. I had a gunsmith install some extra screws through the scope base into the barrel too.

If your into handgun hunting and like to read, here is one of the best books I have ever read on the subject. It has a TON of good info!

Here is a target from a couple years ago while setting my scope using the magtech ammo at 100 yards. (12" target) The last two shots are almost in the same hole.

cool I have the 8 3/8th" barrel and factory sights. I can consistently hit a milk jug at 50 yards with it, but i would prob keep the hunting distances to bow range about 40 yards. I am currently working some hand loads up for it and think i can prob get a bit better groups, but iron sights is not the easiest for me past 50 yards I've tried think I just got a mental block. It was my cousins pistol and he can hit jugs easily at 100 yards and he has horrible eyesight.

I have bad eyesight, so I have to use a scope.
