Oh, I would imagine some custom stock costing upwards of $5000 would be best, but if you want a very good stock for a lot less money, consider Boyd's.

They don't make the "best" stock, but they make stocks which are nearly always the "best bang for the buck". Of course, lots of other folks make after market stocks. But you'll be hard pressed to find a wider selection or a better value or a quicker average delivery time than you'll get at Boyd's.

They are truly "drop in" and you can swap your factory stock for a Boyd's in about 3 minutes.

However, many of them are aggressively inletted; therefore, many people bed them. I fully bedded mine; both action bedding and pillar bedding. I also installed a simple aluminum "keel" beam to stiffen and strengthen the stock. My rifle is a Savage MKII FV .22 LR so the procedure won't be exactly like your rifle. You can look HERE if you want to see what I did.

I spoke with Kyle at XLR little over a yr ago about building a EVO chassis for the 93v17 and he was VERY reseptive to the idea since he says he can inlet ANY footprint and the chassis size would adjust accordingly. so little over 780$ you can have a chassis
