    .550 Bolt Head

Can a BA action bolt head which is .550 thick fit a regular 110 bolt, and if not can it be machined to fit.

No just some extra insurance, for those shooting large calibers out of a small shank action.

17x338 lapua would probably require a 1 in 60 twist barrel or more if it was even feasible. Barrell might last through load development. But I like joking on Dean as well lol.

Yes, the 9/16ths bolt head can be used . The barrel will screw in to the action less obviously.

If anyone knows where to get one let me know, I want to buy one so I can see what's involved.

Question is now, I know there is a 300 Win Mag model, I wonder if it has the thicker lug like the 338 Lapua without the .580 opening.

You could have PTG do a custom bolt head for you if what you're looking for isn't available.

You will still need the longer firing pin.
