Saw the same thing here within the last 4 or 5 months. It's back to where it's always on the shelf again for the last month or so.
Back when the worlds supply of .22LR ammo started disappearing I could still find .17HMR on the shelves regularly. Lately though, the supply seems to have completely dried up in my area. I wonder if all of the rimfire production capacity has been shifted to try and catch up the 22 supply?? Are you guys seeing the same thing in other parts of the country? I'm in Louisiana by the way.

Hopefully the same pattern will follow here. That's the one caliber I didn't stock up on cause I figured I would just be able to buy it as I needed it. Guess that's what I get for thinkin...
Just got a brick of CCI 17gr v-max from Mid-South about 3 weeks ago.

During the rim fire shortage, 17 HMR was always on the shelves around here and still seems to be easy to find.
It disappeared last fall for about a month?, now it's readily available, was told I could have a whole case of it if I wanted?, makes a guy actually ponder getting one so he can shoot on a regular basis without worrying about getting more ammo??
Since I posted this, it's starting to loosen up here now. I found it at Academy 2 trips in a row. I guess this will be the "new normal" for ammo. Periods where it just disappears for weeks or months at a time and mysteriously re-appears. I have a supply of .22 now, so maybe I'll work on stocking up some .17 so I can ride the dry spells out.
.17 HMR shouldn't be too much of an issue, we truly have stacks of it all the time.
More shooting, less typing.
if you check out gunbot.net 17 Hmr is all over the place :) even the A17 ammo a couple times at the big C
17 WSM plentiful now also
There is a plentiful supply of .17HMR here in the midwest. The only time I ran into a problem finding some was the day I bought my R93/17! Cabela's had a sale the week before and the shelves were cleaned out.
Lately Hornady is hovering around $14.99 per 50, Federal about $13.99 and CCI at $14.99 to $16.99. Federals work best for me. Hornady is regularly put on sale at a LGS here at $10.99 per 50, so needless to say, i've been stocking up every chance I get.
