    7mm Rem Mag Data Help

Calling all 7mm Rem Mag Savage Shooters. If you've got a factory varmint contour barrel, 24" length, 1:9.5 twist (or an aftermarket barrel of the same or similar specs) ; please give me you're pet load info for 150gr Nosler ABLR's, 162gr Hornady A-Max's and/or 168gr Berger VLD's. Powder, charge weight and average velocity please. Been religiously reading manuals and I'm finding the A-Max is listed at a slower velocity than the Berger 168's which doesn't make sense. And I can't find anything on the 150gr ABLR's at all. Just want to see exactly how fast people are safely pushing these three bullets out of a 24" if possible. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

65 gr of h4831 will drive a 162 Hornady to the 2950/3000 fps range using a fed 215 primer in a 24" barrel.
Now thats a Rem barrel, never tried it in a Savage. Shoot a 150 gr and a 162 gr at a 1000 yd target and you
will need no convincing as to the best bullet weight.

The best thing you could ever invest in is a good chronograph, that way you'll know what velocities your getting from YOUR rifle. I'd be lost w/o my chronograph!

Sounds like a solid load and I thank you for sharing it with me. I definitely understand the heavier the better when it comes to wind drift and bullet drop at longer distances. My reasoning for trying the Nosler 150gr ABLR is its G7 BC is very comparable to the 162gr A-Max. So if I can get a little more velocity out of it with similar ballistic performance with less powder, and less recoil, I'd be extremely happy with that. Nosler used to have data for the 150gr ABLR listed on their website, they have since removed it, and now only have the 168 ABLR info listed with less than a handful of powders.

I'm very familiar with Nosler's load data page on their website, I frequent it often. The realguns.com and imrpowder.com data are two that I've never ran into in my research which both look very promising, thank you very much LongRange.

I do in fact have a chronograph, I've been reloading for almost 2 years now and can't imagine doing it without one. The main reason for this post was to get peoples first hand experiences with these three bullets I'm inquiring about and see how it compares with the data I've been finding. This is all preliminary research, the gun will hopefully be completely assembled in the next couple months so i'm gathering as much information and data as I can before I get started.
