scope base for a target action

Hello. I looked in the frequently asked questions but did not see this one. I recently bought a used target action that is to be used with a pistol stock. The scope base was removed so I picked up a two piece base but the space between the bases is longer than any of my pistol scopes will allow. Can anyone point me in the right direction of what scope base to use so I can get this project going?
    Thanks in advance.

Please check out site sponsors EGW, they have a great reputation. Sharp Shooter Supply handles ken Ferrel bases and they are top notch.

2 piece, Burris makes an extended front ( same one rem 700s use) and you can then get an extended ring also. by the time you do this you have covered enough of the port that you might as well go to a one piece like the egw and that a lot more versatility for ring spacing. there are other nicer, stronger bases then EGW, but they cost more also.
