    .260 Rem OAL

What are you folks running for OAL when shooting 140gr SMKs in your .260 Rem? I just got a brand new(waited long enough!!) McGowen 1:8 and it seems like it is short. Max OAL I can get using my caliper/Hornady bullet comp and my Hornady OAL gauge with .260 Rem modified case is 2.765, which happens to be what Sierra suggests in the manual. I am guessing most of you seat farther out than this?? Is this the norm or do I need to send this back to McGowen for a second time so they can attempt to get it right?

    Re: .260 Rem OAL

I just did one yesterday Shilen barrel, bullet jammed to the lands, set itself at 2.781. So I subtracted .020 for a seating of 2.761. I haven't gone to the range yet but this will be my starting point, will probably end up somewhere around 2.754, only because most of my Savages like to be around .025 short.
