What caliber?
Greetings all. As the title states, I have a left handed Model 11, serial # G013xxx. Picked it up dirt cheap at a gun show a few years back. Can anyone tell me approximately when it was manufactured?
I'd like to make this my groundhog gun and start working up loads for long distance. Trouble is, I can't seem to find any info on the rate of twist on this rifle, which is going to affect my choice of bullet. Anybody know what it might be?
Thanks in advance, and I look forward to finding all sorts of great info on this forum.
What caliber?
1-9 Twist. Savage used the G prefix from 2003 thru January 2010.

I'd guess somewhere between September 2003 and January 2004, based on a couple of rifles I have in that serial prefix that I know the date of manufacture. Until just recently the Savage Parts Finder listed the date of manufacture, but they've stopped including that information for some reason.
