I was posted in Hanau from 1996-1999 in an MP Battalion and had to visit troops in Darmstadt, Bohmholder, Weisbaden, Wurtzburg, Friedberg, Geissen, Bosnia Herzegovia, Sarajevo, Camp McGovern, Camp Colt, Brycko, Sava River, North East Sector of Bosnia during the Bosnian Deployment.

Along the way over there in those years I was able to get a German license to hunt roe, boar, stag, and fallow deer. I took a Steyr Mannlicher in 6,5 Swede just like the .243 Steyr Mannlicher I have pictured above.

Boar was the best in GE to hunt for me and that would be like Elk over here I suppose in the difference between hunting javelina and wild boar as hunting deer and elk. The elk and the wild boar are a bit harder to hunt.

The Great Dane was invented in Germany to hunt wild boar weighing over 500 lbs. The ears were cropped to resist medical complications from the boar and brush tearing up the elephant like natural ears.

Other than the ears flapping natural without a cropping the Great Dane is the most powerful biting canine on the planet. Average is 900 lbs per square inch of surface area in jaws.

No other dog can successfully hunt wild boar in GE than the Great Dane.

Anyway, I had to show photos about the boar episodes in GE and then our newest addition, Marmaduke, who is pictured ALONE and not to be mixed up with Maxine the puppy with the other full grown Maggie Mae.

I have stated in my will that if I can't make it to heaven then send me to dog heaven where the Great Danes go!

The .250 Savage I am showing is with another Swarovsky because this American Made Rifle by the INDIAN HEAD is not only recognized in Germany (the .250 Savage) by experienced sector wildlife management but also as good enough to take down a wild boar just as fast as a .300 Winchester.

Enjoy these photos and know it was my pleasure to post them.
