Stephens 200...Should I buy or should I go?

New on the boards here. Hello to all. Came across a Stevens Model 200 in .223. Laminated thumb-hole stock, bi-pod, Sightmark optics. Priced at 435. What do you suggest? P

Depends which sight mark is on it. They have a few scopes that are somewhat pricey

If it helps, the rifle and stock, assuming like new condition, is worth about $400.

    Welcome to the forum.

Scope is said to be a 3-9x?? mildot. Stock is made by Stockys. Nice looking rifle really. I already have two Savages, Model 12 .270WSM and a Model 11 in .308. Though this might be a neat addition.

Stocky's and a Stevens 200 in .223 (decent condition) is certainly worth more than $400 in my opinion.

Just for comparison's sake... Cabela's has a 22" heavy barrel .223 blind mag center feed for the same price. (in store only). Add a cheap Boyd's thumbhole... abut $510 total for all new... I don't know what I'd rather have...

You'll do well with it, that's a better than fair price.

I guess we will find out in a day or so. I committed to buy about an hour ago.

I pick it up tomorrow. Turns out the stock is by Boyds. Everything else is as advertised though. I'm not going to quibble as I wanted the rifle anyway. Bore is bright, stock and rifle combination 'feel' good. Scope seems clear. About the only thing I think might be nice is a modification to allow use of a magazine. I need to research that some more.

Got a NIB Stevens 200 a few weeks ago for $350. You made a very good deal.
