Nice Buck nice Rifle !
Picked up A Savage 111 in .30-06 this past summer and slapped on a paint a job and settled on a respectable hunting load. Shooting the Nosler 168 Grain Balistic Silver Tip. While its not a barn burner velocity wise it got er done for me. 2670 fps was the average chronied speed.
Was at the end of a pipeline Wednesday morning and I let out a grunt call and this fella showed his head just peering over a knoll at me. All he gave me was his neck and head at 223 yards. Let fly and meat was made....

That's not just meat, friend, that's a trophy!! Love the paint job on the rifle too!
Nice job thats a solid buck
Thank you for the kind words. My apologies for posting in the wrong section. Should have been in the medium game section I now see. Anyway, I have been a lurker for a while here and have always loved Savage firearms. Have some Savage leverguns that are family heirlooms and shoot them often. Looking forward to participating more often here....
Man that beast has a massive neck. Congrats on a really nice one

Nice buck
I noticed the cup looks empty like the bullet disintegrated. I had the same issue quite a while back with the same bullet in a factory loading. Though the buck I shot wound up dead as well as the buck you shot I switched bullets to something that doesn't shed the jacket and gives me more penetration.

This is sort of off topic, but I have done camo jobs on various rifles but never that splattery look like you have on your gun. How do you do that? Some sort of flinging of paint or blowing through a straw or something? I like it! Going to do a camo job on my Savage build. Of course, all I have are the barrels wrenches so far...
That's a heck of a shot! Congrats.
Just proves it again you need not a $2k-$4k rig to drop a deer any place USA.
Nice shot & buck!
