Got my Boyd's stock in today. Stoked is the word. Fits nice, looks great, free floated all the way to the chamber.

I love it. Looks like the classy hunting guns I used to lust after as a young one. I can't wait to test fire it... but I'm kinda scared to get a scratch on it now.

My wife did get me the pro varmint, centerfeed stock for Christmas. It's camo color as you can tell from the picture. It looks great. Now if I could just find the time to open up the barrel channel and bed it, I'd be in business.

Try this tool!!

I bought one of these, and it makes short work of free floating a barrel. The laminate stocks took a bit longer as the wood is a lot harder, or so it seemed. I open my barrel channel up so there is plenty of room for air flow all around the barrel, right back to the front of the recoil lug.

This was money well spent.

For a 1" bull barrel, did you use the 1" or the 1 1/8" cutter? Is it significantly faster/easier than using 80 grit sandpaper and a dowel? Thanks

I think I used the 1 1/8" tool. I wanted plenty of room for the barrel to clear the channel. The trick was when I bedded the action, I wrapped electrical tape around the barrel to keep it centered in the channel.

It shoots, so I am happy.
