    Check scope bases, & rings they may be loose.

    Yep, every savage ive seen that shot over 2" groups the scope bases were the culprit

    Not quite, I had plenty of of ammo that would shoot over 2" in some of my guns that shot sub moa at 200 yds with the correct reload and in a few cases with factory ammo. However, this is not to say that the problem is not the optics or something outside the gun itself.

    Should I give the barrel a good cleaning before the next range trip or keep it dirty?
