    testing for a bad scope

I've been wondering if there is a way to determine if a scope is bad with out swapping it out for a known good one.
I was thinking that you could install a laser bore into the barrel. Check the position of the dot at 75 yards, bounce the rifle on the floor and check the position of the dot and compair. Could this work or am I chasing a rabbit at best?

Best way is using a optical collimator. Check the turrets for movement to see if it actually tracks and repeatability, then move the A.O. to make sure the reticle doesn't move. If you get that far, then give the scope a tap with a screwdriver handle to check for loose lenses.
