"12 Series- Are either Target or Palma type actions."
Nope. Many 12 series are just the same actions as the rest. You are confusing them with the Target series.
Trying to learn about the different Savage-110 based actions. So, here is what I think I know, please correct me where I am wrong. Also, I am referring specifically to rifles that are presently offered and not pre-2008 where Savage was making all types of modifications and changes to their lineup.
10/11/14/16 Long/Short Actions- These are all actually the same actions. The differences are simply in the stocks, triggers, barrel etc..
When I say the same I mean that the Short Actions are all the same dimensionally and the same for the Long Actions.
So for example, the Action on a .308 Hog Hunter is the same as the action on a .308 14 Classic. They just are dressed up differently per se.
12 Series- Are either Target or Palma type actions.
Stevens 200- I think these are similar to 110's but not exactly. Please enlighten me.

I see now..the 12 series Varmit would he the standard action and the Target series would be the other.
The Stevens 200 Long Action is the same as the Savage 110, and the Stevens 200 Short Action is the same as the Savage 10.

So is the Model 25 its own action like the Axis?
Yup, the model 25 is very similar to the model 40, but not the same. Totally different than the 10/110 types. The Axis is its own but shares some parts with the 10/110.
