    .30-06 AI question

I currently have a 24" barreled .30-06 and was wanting to rechamber it to the AI version and was wondering in the 24" barrel what kinda performace gains can I except to see? I've always been kinda interested in this cartridge but was thinking I needed a 26" barrel to really see an improvement, but would rather save the money if the 24" will but a worth while improvement.

100fps or so and you'll probably never have to trim the cases again

I would prefer a longer barrel with the '06's, but there is nothing wrong with a 24" barrel and this round. Go for it. Not having to trim brass is a bigger plus to me :)

not much gain. you are not changing the case size enough to gain much more powder space. No expensive dies to buy. A lee collet neck sizer and a normal seater work great. one of the cheapest AIs to get into. No problems feeding from my older clip savage. Mine is a 24" A&B giving me .7"@100 with 165s
recoil did not change any, it is still sharp.
