Savage 10TR in a Choate Tactical Stock?

Has anyone accomplished this match? If so what do you think about it, hurt or help accuracy?

I'm new here and to bolt guns, but I put this stock on my Savage Model 11, like it so far.

Nice looking and shooting rifle. Did yours come with the cheek riser?

Yes, just the one day that I was doing some load testing. I got it sighted in using some factory ammo that I've had laying around, then shot 3 different 5 shot groups using different charges of powder. Haven't had it out past 100 yards though, and probably won't until I get my load dialed in.

I guess a better question would have been was there a difference between the old and the new stock. I saw your groups in the other post.

As far as groupings go, no, I don't think there was much difference between the Accu-Stock and this stock. This stock is however much more comfortable to lay behind and shoot. The biggest improvement in group size for this particular rifle was changing to a heavier bullet weight. Before I started reloading, all I could find locally was 150 grain bullets. I tried both a Remington and Winchester variant. Neither would even remotely group at 100 yards. Wish I still had the pic of the target I was shooting. Probably had a 7-9 inch spread. I began reloading, and have tried 165 grain and 175 grain bullets, both group equally well. I believe the 150 grain bullets were just too light for the 10 inch twist barrel.
