    How to remove an escission

Forgive my spelling but, I have a set of pillars that I purchased from Stockys, the front one has an indented asscision already built in and the rear has the notch already in place. I am wanting to install them in a new boyds thumbhole stock that I purchased. I am having one heck of a time removing the ascusion that came already recessed into the front pillar area of the stock. Any ideas on how to remove it without damaging the stock?

I use a small thin bladed screwdriver from the inside to catch the edge then tap on the screwdriver with a small brass hammer to get it moving. Once it moves I can get on them with a pin punch to drive them the rest of the way out. They're only pressed in and not all that tight.

Thank you. I had the same thought process but was worried about beating up the stock in case it was epoxyed in.
