Give me your recommendations for this rifle with a Nikon Team Primos 3x9x40 on a .30-06. I was told I will most likely need the extended version regardless of which rings/bases I use.

Warne 2pc extended bases(actually just rear base is extended) and Burris Signature Zee rings.
Your best bet for the most options as far as scope adjustment for eye relief would be a good 1pc base, like a EGW, Farrell, or Warne. Only downfall is I think it is a little harder to load the blind magazine.

The 114 has a DBM so that will not be a problem.Originally Posted by pdog06
Then for $40 go with the EGW and mount the scope where you want it.

See profile for fire arms
Do it today there maybe no tomorrow
I used Talley one piece extended base/ring to mount a Bushnell 4200 3-9x40 on my 114 25-06. They worked real nice. These are the rings with the base part machined right in. Two seperate pieces, one front ring/base combo and one rear ring/base combo if that makes sense??
Thats a good idea too builder
You got a pic of that setup? I have one in .270 on order and would like to have my ducks in a row when it gets here.
Here ya go

Very nice. I think thats the rout ill go then. I just hope the scope that I have planned to use is long enough. Yours sits nice and low, just the way I like it.
Thanks for the pic. Helped alot
I like the looks of those Talley ring/base combos. Going shopping for them today.
Whats the height on those rings? I did a quick search and found them in high and extra high
