I just ordered a boyds stock for my 111 bbr. If there is a hole I'll let you know. I'm getting it tomorrow via ups.
I had recently ordered a Boyds for a 111 XP Hunter with the bottom bolt release/DBM.
Fit like a glove, but what I noticed is that they had also cut out a slot on the upper right hand side for the bolt release on on the top. This left a gaping hole, and looked like crap. Plus it opened up an area for junk to get into and mess with things...
I took a piece of Ebony and fitted it to the cut out, and glued it in. Worked like a champ.
Is any one else getting stocks with this cut out that is not needed? Or... Has Boyds corrected this and no longer machines this out?
I just picked up a Mod #11 in 7MM-08 and will order another Boyds for it.

I just got one for my 11 xp. It did not have a slot for the top release.
I just need a long action screw
I got my stock in. It bolted right up! No problems! And there was no slot!!
Did you have to order bottom metal or did the plastic bottom components mount up ok? I am looking at the Featherweight Thumbhole and on the Boyds site it says I need to order bottom metal from Savage to make the swap work, did you have this issue? Thanks for any help!
When choosing the model on Boyd's website there is a difference between the top and bottom bolt release. That is the difference between the "gap" and not having one.
Lankee- I bought a tacticool for my xp and the bottom plastic fit fine and was good enough to get me the range. I plan on ordering new metal just have not got there yet.
