Pretty sure the only thing holding it in is a retaining pin that just needs tapped out.
I recently acquired a Stevens Tip-up rifle with a low 4 digit number. Its in bad shape cosmetically but locks up tight. I am in process of sleeving the barrel to 22 from 25 stevens and am going to have the action re-plated, new wood etc... I am having trouble finding a schematic. The only problem so far is removal of the firing pin, does it just unscrew? I have drenched it with liquid wrench and cant get it to move, but I don't want to bugger it up, any info would be helpful.

Savage- "never say never".
Thanks for the the reply, the pin is held in what looks like a threaded retainer that would unscrew but I cant get it to budge, tapping is my next step.
O.K. got it, it was held in by a threaded retainer and it just needed a little tapping, I could really use a schematic if anyone has one.

Is it just called a "Tip Up"?
The only Tip Up model I can find is a Stevens pistol in Kimmels book. Could be a Stevens Favorite, Ideal, Marksman, Crack Shot, or something, I think you've got the model wrong. I can probably find you a schematic if I knew exactly what you had.
Can you post a pic?
Savage- "never say never".
Did you get the pics?
Nope, where did you send them?
