RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.
anyone have any experience with this with like 75 amax's i have thought about this over the 22-250 ai
I think I still have a dummy round here that I made up for the one I had. If I can locate it I will send your way if you wish.
More shooting, less typing.
I sent a 22-250 Remington 700 barrel down to chesty, and he machined it into a savage shank in that chambering, he said he had to try it out before sending it back to me, so I said go for it, he was telling me there is nothing he can't shoot in that barrel, he tried all bullet weights and the next load out did the previous, and that was a 14 twist he then informed me that he was not giving up that barrel it was just to awesome, and say how much he owed me, I ended up trading some stuff and made out OK.

I am starting on a 22-6mm build. The 6mm gives a longer neck for the heavier bullets. The neck is .333 vs .25 to hold the 75 gr bullets.. And the plan is to get to 3650 or more.
I've got one in the works. The Smith says it should reach 3500-3800 depending on my rifle. I know one of the contest hunters tell me he was getting 3550 with ease. Don't remember the powder he was using.

keep us/ me posted on that you gonna push the 75 a max? what twist barrel
I've got some 75 amax (200) and some 80gr nosler hpbt Customs. The barrel is a wrapped 26 in 1-8 Benchmark. hopefully in the next few weeks I'll get it back. He is timing and trueing and everything. Your action is still in safe but getting ready to send it to S.D. with barrel for one of my 6.5 builds.

I am wondering if rechambering a 28" barrel from 22-250 ai to the 22-243 ai would be worth it or wait tell this batrel is done? Probably have about 300-350 rounds down it
ive known a few guy who "had" them and note i emphasized had.
id be keeping the 22x250 ai and be getting a 6mm rem ai or similar and use the heavier bullets.
whats the barrel life on one of these i have a 223 mcqowen 1-8t 26" varmint taper that a smith throated to deep so it sbeen sitting in my safe for 2 years now wiating for something
From my experience in aggressive loading and overbore chambering, the first 400 are match rounds, the next 400 are target rounds, and the last 400 are hunting rounds, then rethroat the barrel and shampoo, rinse, repeat, Jim at Apache is chambering me a 22 cal, from a necked down 6.5 swede, I had a new McGowen 26" 22-250 9 twist that was also collecting dust, the best part is you get Lapua brass for $70.00 per hundred, Can't wait to see those Sierra

Scope...I like the way you think. Me personally, I feel like those bullets at that speed...well there won't be a coyote in the county that is safe. Hit em like a hammer.

I am at point in my life, that I don't nearly shoot the volume of rounds I use to, so I want to get the most out of it I can, when I was a "youts" I couldn't cycle the bolt fast enough, now I set up on a hill or meadow, and take a few shots then just sit peacefully, take a shot and then play with my dog, take another shot and eat a "sammich" take another shot then it's nap time, take one last shot, and then time to go home cause I'm exhausted, I would do that every day If I could, and so would Jasmine my faithful Border Collie, here she is with my Grand Daughter, this is one of my favorite pics in the whole world.
