    Accuracy Assist for Sporter Stock

I've shot a couple benchrest competitions were I've seen rifles with sporter type stocks that have some type of block mounted to the forearm to ride the front bag better. I asked one of the competitors about his and he said he just made his out of a cutting board. Does anyone make something like this and how do they mount them to the front of the stock? Just threw the front sling swivel? I'm just looking for something I can throw a couple bucks at to help my stock untill I can save up to get a custom stock.

You can make it out of anything really. Some people use plastic stock, some use wood, I used a pc of aluminum on one of mine. 3" wide, 4" long, and 3/8" thick. I drilled and recessed it for screws to match my stock (which had 2 sling studs) so that way I can pop it off and go back to studs any time.

There are several company's making for end adapters. Sinclair makes one out of aluminum, Possum Hollow makes one out of delrum plastic that comes up on the sides, and has to side screws to keep the unit straight. Most of them mount through a sling swivel hole, with a wood screw. The Sinclair unit mounts in a accessory rail, but can be modified to work other wise. There are a few others out there, and cost is from $20 to 40 bucks.
