Thanks , yes i believe 13 3/4 is the norm on most stocks , but this axis is 14 5/8 if i measured it right , just wondering if this is a oddball or if some were mfg in this length.and why.

Perhaps one is a youth stock?

13 3/4" is about normal. 14 5/8" "is" long for a "stock" rifle if it is measured correctly. That would be from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad.

They changed for some reason or other. I just got back from the gun store and put two side by side and one was longer than the other. The difference is about the thickness of the recoil pad. I took the pad off my longer one and it matches the short one, with a pad. They must have shortened them. Pistol grip area and everything else is the same, just the butt stock section is longer, which sucks cause my pretty camo one is the longer one.
