I thought Id share a little experiment I've taken on. If this has been done before by someone on here my bad for being repetitive.
If it hasn't, maybe this will be a good use for some old rubbermade stocks piled up in the corner. I'm converting an old plastic stock into a lightweight walking hunter but I wanted a little more elevation off the comb of this rifle. After looking at other guns with risers attached I got to thinking, wonder if I could use the hollow stock off of a junker plastic stock to make the piece I need? So I went to the chop saw and here's how it started:

After that I put the top piece over the existing stock to see how it fit. It slid over and is very tight. When I shouldered the rifle it felt really good. I plan to clean of the edges and close in the ends before painting. I'm still working through how I plan to attach to the stock. (as you can also see the stock just got bedded this morning) Stay tuned on the end product, I'll post those pics too
