Send it to sss for a fishnet flute job.
I think its a nitride coating, you could re nitride or blue it or just sand it down, but that metal is HARD.
How do you get the name and logo off the bolt body ?

I removed it from my bolts using a buffing wheel. Worked well
Dremmel and Flitz
It is lazered in or etched and it should come off easily, why do you want to take it off?
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
I polished my bolt and left the etching on the bolt. It is faded and not real bold like it was from the factory. I actually like the way it looks now.
A green Scotch Brite pad like found with the dishwasing supplies at the grocery store will take it right off. I've done a couple. Heck they take a tiny amount of metal too and I have even used them to remove scratches from a target crown on stainless. A little more aggressive than they appear. They are very useful tiinker/gunsmithing tools if used properly.
A good wife and a steady job has ruined many a great hunter.
Ok, it's off. A scotch brite pad followed by Flitz. It looks great, thanks guys.
