For some reason I was thinking it was 1/2"-28TPI.

I don't have my pitch gauge here as I leave it work most of the time, but glancing at a BAS here it seems to be a finer pitch than a small shank barrel I have here and I know that the small shank barrels are 1.055"-20TPI. I got up way to early this morning so perhaps its just my tired eyes.

You are correct Boots. I don't know what I was thinking. Just stripped it down and verified.

Thanks for the help. Had a little trouble getting the bolt started again. I will pick up a tap and die to clean up the threads. Papalote.

You need to de-cock and start the threads. Then use the edge of a workbench to cock it.

A tap won't do much good in the bolt body...they are just as hard as the tap.
