    Accurate 4064 in 308 and 22-250

Well it looks like the 4064 is getting easier to get I'm currently shooting Varget I'm both but with the current supply situation I'm getting low on Varget and am having to look elsewhere. I have been looking for rl 15 since I have heard good results with it.

    How do you like it?

Accuracy?? 175's in the 308 and 55g blitz kings in the 22-250 but will be getting a fast twist barrel for 70grain bullets.

    Temperature stability?

Powder valley has it in stock but no cci primers.

I would get the IMR 4064 that is in stock at Third Generation Shooter supply, they have a ton of it. I've used IMR 4064 with 168 an 175 in .308 with very good results. It's a great powder. Accurate will work as well.

I must say that I have 2 Savage .308's and both of them shoot very well with pretty much every powder I've tried that has load data for .308.

RL 15 is my fav for 308 with 4064 a very close runner up. Get very accurate results out of both--I just like the "smoothness" of RL 15 a tad better. I wouldn't hesitate to lay in 10 lbs of either.

How is the temperature stability of imr 4064? Texas it could be 30-120 sometimes in one day....I'm gonna run to the local shop Saturday and see what I can come up with. Seems like quite a few places have both the 4064 varieties but no RL 15, it seems like it's as available as Varget. I'm hoping soon to see the powder, primers, and bullets all at the same time so I can pay one shipping.

Probably the best bet is check the manufacturer's webs--though 4064 seems to have a good rep in cold. 30 to 120 in one day? I don't think my brain would function reliably in those conditions! : )

I have been at a horse show in amarillo and it went from 100 to 30 in one day. Brutal. Well I'm gonna try to get a pound this weekend to try before I buy a bunch. There is a few of us ready to order some in November.
