Mad Dog will be able to, but I think he's out deep in the Ontario woods playing with Rockey and Bullwinkle or something. LOL Actually, he works at an asphalt plant that keeps him away for months at a time and he has very limited internet access there.

Thank you.
Talked to Mad Dog today....they're just finishing up at the asphalt plant and he should be back by the beginning of next week. Longest season he's ever had he says.

Hi Guys
I have a take-down 1899 Model 250-3000 S/N 179636. I am a tad confused as to when it was made, one site says december 1915, the Springfield Armoury site says January 1916, I'd like to believe the December date as this would make it the first month for manufacturing this calibre.
The rifle is in 95% condition inside and out, alas, it doesn't have a scope and the rifle has never been drilled for a scope mount but the fore-wood has two clip grooves that suggest a barrel clip scope mount. all very odd. If anyone can shed some light on the rifle for me I would appreciate it. Cheers Col
You've only got 1 month difference. The only real way to tell would be to send for a factory letter.
