Check your Bolt Assembly Screw. That is the allen type bolt right behind the Bolt Handle. It should be nice and snug and keep the handle firmly held when tight.
Greetings fellow Savage shooters. This is my first post so here goes: is it normal for the bolt handle on a model 10 to jiggle, ie seems to be loose. Bolt body is fine and snug. I can shake the gun and make the handle rattle, doesnt matter if cocked or not. Is there something that can be tightened or just the nature of the beast? Model 10 fpsr in 308.

Thanks, boots. I finally had a chance to give tightening the nut a try. I could only get about 10 degrees of turn but it seemed to cure most of the looseness. I didnt want to apply too much torque when tightening. However, on a cocked bolt it is snug, but on an uncocked bolt still a bit of jiggle. Is this normal?
Savages design the bolt raceway with "slop" open tolerences. It is not a Remington.
Thanks for the replies, everyone. I cant wait to get back to the range and see how some test loads work out.
