    B.Mag 96901 17WSM Registry

Well guys, gals, fellow shooters rim fire and center.

I don't know what will happen with the Savage B.Mag but I am curious who all has received them. I am seeing the sales dwindling on GunBroker and over all it seems like there has not been that many reported sold.

So I thought I would make a thread for those willing to say they bought one. I know of 3 in the county in which I live here in Pennsylvania and I know of 10 that arrived for sale in Elk County PA.

I have touched 3, the 1st one in the county that went to the local Savage rep, mine and one in Elk County Ammo & Arms.

    So here goes:

B.Mag 1: Serial # H978177 (received in shop on June 4, '13) went to the local Sales rep. Jeff Quin from GunBlast received H978163 and he posted his review on July 24, 2013 http://www.gunblast.com/Savage-Bmag.htm

My rifle the B.Mine is J029295 purchased on July 3, 2013

So hopefully the new B.Mag owners will join in.

    Thanks

Purchased my B.Mag here in Albuquerque 7/19/13 #J026426. I know the same dealer had one prior to mine. Can't find ammo ANYWHERE!

Welcome to Savage Shooters, B.Mag ownership and the registry and thank you.

What ammo have you used and what works best for you?

I've tried both the 20 and the 25 grain ammo, and found that the 25 grainers grouped quite better. Here is a picture of the 25 grain group.

This is the picture of the 20 grain flavor which I am currently setup for to snipe some crows.

I was surprised actually how differently the two shot. What have you found works best for you?

25 grain works best for me. Your 25gr group looks similar to mine. I am going to start weighing ammo and grouping the weights together within boxes. I really think there is a huge varience occuring because I can feel recoil difference at times. I need to shoot some across my Chrony.

    Please keep things on topic.

If you just wish to chit chat, please do that via PM or in the off topic section.
For example, your favorite jerky recipes can go in the off topic section as well.
Specific game recipes can go in the appropriate (small game, medium sized game, big game) hunting section.

It's not that I am antisocial, but the forum works better/smoother when threads stay on topic.

If you want to change the subject, fine, but please don't hijack the existing thread, but rather I would ask you to start a new thread in the appropriate section of the forum.

    Thanks for your help.

Keep us posted on what you find out with the velocity variances. I don't own a chronograph but I'm interested in what kind of numbers you come up with for the two loads.

Elk county ammo and arms, through Gun brokers. 8-24-13
Can't get to the serial number now, if important I'll get it tomorrow.
Paid a bit of a premium, but man oh man does it shoot straight.
Sighted in scope starting at 50 yards, holes were on top of each other,
at 100 yards after a bit of slight adjustments to the scope very tight groups.
I can't wait together back to the range this Saturday, I'll get it on the 200 & 300 yard range.

I was actually in that store to by my B.Mag a week before I bought mine at DSG. The reason I didn't buy it there after I drove 120 miles one way was I was told over the phone that I could buy 3 boxes of WSM and when I got their the owner told me I could only buy one box. I thought it over and left. Later in July my wife and I were on vacation and stopped in there and bought some apparel and hunting clothing.

Nice store, crappy move though on the ammo.

    I have a line on my 2nd B.Mag though

Savage B.Mag .17 WSM - Purchased July 22, 2013 at Gander Mountain in Valdosta, Georgia. Funny thing is it was marked and inventoried as a Savage 93R17. So I don't think too many employees knew it was there. Spotted it and walked out the door the same day with it! lol

    Serial# J030951

    Cheers,

    Zinzrah,

What rifle did they charge you for, was it for a 93R17 or a Savage B Mag. I got mine on June 22,2013 in a small gun store in Turlock Ca for $299.
