    What Stock?

New Build For F T/R .I have a new .308 Barrel Blank in Medium palma with a 1in 10 twist 30" in length from Brux.
I am going to get a Savage Target action RBLP that I understand has 3 action screws. Can I use a Choate Varmint Stock or what Stock should I get? I am left handed so I need something that is at least ambidextrous as far as the stock is concerned. What should I get?

    Thanks,

    Re: What Stock?

A stock for a newer model centerfeed short action(4.400" screw spacing) will fit your target action, whith the exception of the middle screw. You would have to abandon that screw, but most think it dont make a difference anyway if the action is bedded correctly. A friend of mine just did this with a centerfeed B&C Medalist stock.

If you want one with the 3 screw holes you are limited to either a factory stock(laminate or the HS Precision), or have a custom made. For customs look into Sharpshooter Supply or Joel Russo for laminates and Stockade for composites.

Chote Tactical stock would be a good bench rest stock also.
