yes shilen, douglas, mc gowen are all on par with each other.
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
Have a 24" Stainless McGowen contoured .700 at 24 in 7mm-08. It consistently shoots under .5, fairly often .4, ocasionally .3 and I am not much of a reloader. It cleans fairly easy, but again, I am not very meticulous when it comes to cleaning. I recently switched to Wipeout and patches come out clean after a couple of sessions without having to scrub.
