    H4831 in 260 remington.....non SC?

been looking for an ideal powder and hear h4350 and h4831sc are the "go to" powders. no luck finding either but found a local who has 3lbs of h4831 but it's not the short cut varient. can I crush enough power into the case to make it work or am I better off to continue my search? I have a 28" btw

Will work fine. SC just meters better. Powder is the same. I use both.

I had better results using H4350 but 4831 will work if that is all there is.

Do they still make 4831 SSC?

RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.

Just 4831SC, the closest to that powder would be 7828SCC

My best load for my 260Rem is 43grns of IMR4350, 140grn Rem PSP, Rem case, CCI200, bullet touching lands. :)

Powder Valley has some IMR4350 one pound bottles right now......I think I bought their last 8lb bottle.

It'll take a little while for it to be shipped but it beats not having any.

Apparently Reloader 17 does quite well in the 260. Not surprised since the burn rate is very close to IMR4350.

IMR 4350 is awesome for the heavier bullets and Varget is good for the lighter.

yeah i'd like to get H4350 but no luck for the last 6+ months. not really down to be paying hazmat/shipping for single pounders. I may give the h4831 a try till things come back to "normal"

I've also had best luck with the 260 and 120gr BT or 130 gr Accubond with H4350. RL17 has been finiky with 20" and 22" sporter barrels. RL 19 is usually a good choicke. And W760/H414 are almost as good as H4350 in terms of accuracy.

I've been working my loads with H1000. It's npneen coming together well and run about 100 fps over the book called velocity in mine. I have a 28" also and am using 140 nosler custom comps
