Best thing is to measure the outside diameter with calipers and go to Sears and spend 5-6 dollars on a some thread gauges to figure out the threads...not trying to be a smart alek, but this way you will be sure.

My .308 FCP-K has 5/8x24 thread and I think that is fairly common.
Savage 10 FCP-K with Bushnell 3.5-21x50 scope, lots of SIG Pistols.

Best to do as thomae suggested. I can tell you that to the best of my knowledge Savage has only used 3 different threads on the muzzles of their factory barrels.

    1/2-28tpi for 22LR, and 224 calibers
5/8-24tpi for anything larger than 224
9/16-28 tpi for their ON/OFF adjustable muzzle brakes

Measure yours to be sure, but if you have a factory barrel it should be one of those 3.
    204, 22 K-Hornet, 222, 223, 22-250, 22-250AI, 6BR, 243, 243AI, 6-06, 6-WSM, 250-3000AI, 270, 7-08, 7RM, 30BR, 308, 30-06, 375 H&H, 444 Marlin, 450BM, 458WM
