The Great Western Rodent Massacre of 2013

    No Bootsy this time.

Flying out Friday to meet up with Ryan, hoping to maybe get with Jim too.

Rifles are cleaned and packed, UPS says our extra ammo is on the truck to be delivered to the hotel today.

    ....just counting down the days.

Make sure you take your body armor...just in case they shoot back.

Jealous! Make sure your loaded for those mean and nasty bull pdogs. One of those gets ahold of you...well...you know the rest. The ARs will be good for when they decide to charge. Have fun.

Wish I was coming along guys. I am going to be sitting at home/work depressed the whole time y'all are out there. LOL. Be sure to take lots of pics, it may be the only way I can make it through til next year.

I am already saving/gearing up for the 2014 Massacare and by then the 6WSM will be ready to give those pdogs a 105gr lead injection at hopefully 3700fps.

Seriously have a great time, be safe, and shoot a couple for me.

Next time ship the ammo to my place.....I will make sure it gets used....LOL
I hope it went well. I got out Thursday in the fog/misty/cloudy/windy/overcast weather (my day off & it couldn't be nice) & still shot 60 of them. Ground was wet/damp, not soaking since it was getting sucked in fast, but they were out & about eating as usual, not nearly as many if it would of been in the 70s & sunny like today though.

Well.....my 12VLP didn't completely survive the trip....but except for that...it was an awesome trip !!

I could have sworn there used to be an ejector and extractor in that bolt........and I don't remember there being an imprint of the headstamp on it.

^^^ great shooting & glad you all made it here & back fine. Darned that I missed you all. I should of given you all my home # since I don't use my cell & didn't even know I left it at work F/S/S when I had those days off & didn't miss it.
You better get some spares for the Savage bolts. I learned the hard way as you did 4 years ago when mine blew on a p-dog shoot.
I keep 2-3 each of all bolt parts in my box now!!
Next time BBQ at my place.

    You're on Amigo !!

Good idea. I packed a few extra AR parts but never though to carry Savage parts.

We hoofed it 10 miles on Sat so....at least it went south on me at the end of the day on Sunday (only 4 mile hike).

I'm jealous! I was suppose to go on a p-dog hunt with some guys from the shop but things changed and I cannot take the time off. I have a reall nice rig I'm putting together that will turn those p dogs into the "red mist"

I want to get something set up for next year and go regardless of how busy the shop is! I'll call it testing, there are some different rifling styles we haven't had much trigger time with!

10 miles, that would have been a hike. Maybe for the 2014 Massacre I'll hafta pack lighter than I did for the 2012 trip. LOL!

Yeah, this year was all hike-in, 10 miles isn't bad with a nice light deer rifle and a 5 rounds but, it felt like a lot farther carrying a varmint rifle and few hundred rounds (hahaha). We were able to get into some really good towns that way though.

    Not in any particular order......

    Me and my son (DJ)

    JohnnyB and DJ

    More hiking.....ughh

    More hiking....

Cows...what's with them walking though prairie dog towns while you're shooting ??

    But they are darn tasty....

Stopped by WY Fish & Game on the way home....yikes, wolves are pretty darn big.
