On Dec. 31, 2012, I bought my "last gun of the year", an older, used, but in decent shape Savage 111 in the good old standby caliber of .30-06

I've since been trying to find out what specific model this is, more out of curiosity than anything, it has the following identifying features;

Non-Accutrigger
3 position safety on the tang
Wood (beechwood?) stock with pressed checkering at the pistol grip and fore-end and sling swivel mounts, hard rubber recoil pad, pistol grip cap has copper colored medallion with the savage Indian and "savage arms co" in a script type font
Barrel is free floated to the recoil lug
Barrel has iron sights, rear appears to be a Williams ramp adjustable for elevation and windage

Ser# starts with "G006"

Any ideas as to which model, the fact that it still has irons probably means it's an older model, and the irons are a good part of the reason I chose it over a Winchester M70 of similar vintage that had lower end sights and a non floated barrel

I figure that for $260, I got a decent deal on it, it was older stock and had been there for over a year, the bore looked practically unfired, I guess everyone else wanted the latest polymer tactical rig, I'm a wood and steel guy myself
