    111 stock help

    Hi guys,

New Savage owner, 111 trophy hunter (.30-06) with a synthetic stock. I know that there are replacement pads (limbsaver, etc...) I can put on but I think that having a heavier stock will also help. Mine's a lefty and the bolt release in front of the trigger housing (if that matters). I'm looking for recommendations for a replacement stock. Thanks in advance!

A laminated wood stock will add some weight. Check Boyds for the styles they have. You should also get their recoil pad, trigger guard, and action screws.

If you go this route make sure to check the barrel channel for proper clearance and consider bedding the action.
