Will it work??? for 110 LA to .338 Lupla Mag

    Guys,
I know i have posted some weird stuff for caliber changes, but I noticed that Savage has introduced the 110 BA in .338 Laupla Mag, what are the changes from the Standard LA 110 in 30-06 with a serial Number F95 XXXX to the new config (what is the differance aside from bigger barrel shank). Is this feasiable to use this action?????????????? Will my action stand the pressure????
I know the bolt head needs to be changed. ???

This has been asked before on here. I'm pretty sure the answer is a simple "No". It cannot handle the pressure. The new rifle is deigned around the cartridge.

EFBell is right, your atsndard 110 will not handle the pressures of a 338 lapua. The New action, that Savage has made, has many changes internaly for the 338 lapua.

It won't stand the pressure....yikes! This is a bit off topic but didn't savage once offer this action chambered in 300 Remington Ultra Mag? Perhaps I'm mistaken as to what is being referenced as "pressure" but when I take a quick look at the specs I see the 300RUM operating about 4000psi above the 338 lupa

Perhaps a better term might be bolt thrust? I'm not the expert, just remember reading that it's not the same action we are all used to.

Bolt thrust is correct. The Lapua has a bigger case head if memory serves me right.

First, build or buy a 338 RUM instead of the Lapua. The money you save on the price of brass will allow you to buy other components to load with.

I built a 338 RUM on a Savage Target action. 600+ rounds down the tube with no issues.

Of note, search Sharpshooters posts - he provided some detailed information about bolts and receivers regarding pressures they yield at.
