Finally got my .204 ruger barrel today!

I have been trying to buy a used .204 barrel for months to put on my Stevens 200 (currently .223). Finally found one and it came in the mail today! I have a Boyds sporter thumbhole right now. Anyone know if i will be able to sand out the barrel channel to fit a heavy barrel? I'll post some pics when i figure out how haha

A little sandpaper and a round dowel rod and you can open up the barrel channel. The sides might get a little thin on the forearm depending on how much you have to take out to make it fit. Take it slow so you dont take out too much.

Thanks that's kind of what I was thinking. I'm a little worried about the thickness of wood on the sides but we'll see how it goes
