radial scratch on breech of my Mark II, any concern?

    Hi all,

I am new to Savage rifles and just purchased a Mark II .22lr. Upon getting home and inspecting it closely, I discovered a small scratch on the breech face that appears below the indentation that the right-side extractor seats into and curves downward in a radial direction. I have included photos to make clear what I see. If anyone can tell me whether this may affect the functioning of the rifle I would be very happy for that information. It appears the scratch is beyond the area where the rim of a cartridge would seat. I have not fired the rifle yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That was probably done at assembly and it won't hurt anything as far as feed and function. Don't lose any sleep over it.
