Never too late to learn ,GARY
Did you make it a single shot? Or is the mag in there? What did you use on the finish?
I have that same red and black blank that I'm going to make my stock from and love the way that looks.
Gorgeous--I've always wanted a BR rifle--did you once post this on the BR forum? Just curious--how much of the rifle is actually Axis?

I'd like to know what kind if accuracy you are getting and how does the action compare to a regular model 10 type action?
Thanks
drybean, I gotta say that is probably the best looking Axis I have seen yet. I had to do a double take to be sure it was an Axis.
I thought that thing looked familiar. Works pretty well on the Axis. Your the 3rd person to put on of those on the Axis (that I know of) and looks great.

I'll just echo all the other statements, of that is one beautiful Savage Axis... What caliber is it, and what did it start out as??? For me though of course, your rifle does (in my mind) beg the question: How many parts can one swap out or change on an Axis, and still call it an Axis? :)
thanks Rogeritail the axis started its life as a 308,it is now a 6Dasher (improved 6 Br)
there is not much left of the original rifle only the bolt and receiver
