    Savage Short Action magazine problem

I picked up a used Savage short action with 4.27" bolt spacing. I screwed a 223 barrel on it. I am assuming I have a standard short action magazine and follower since the rounds won't stay down in the mag. Can anyone confirm if there is a difference in short action blind magazines? If so, where can I find the correct parts?

    Thanks

Yes, there is a difference and Midway is currently out of stock on the magazine box needed. You will need a magazine box and a spring and follower. Your best bet is to call Savage.

They are real good about customer service and parts.

+1 -- just talked to them about a 308 blind mag to convert a 22-250. Also you can try bending the lips, but that is a bit tough as they are made to bend... and then bend right back where they started.
