    Anyone shooting a 6-250 or 6x47L?

Anyone out there shooting a 6-250 Rem. or 6x47 Lapua with varmint weight bullets? I'm thinking in the 55-80g range.

What kind of velocities and accuracy are you getting?

Bored and thinking of a late winter project! ;D

Made up a dummy round (6mm-22/250) with a 70g Nosler. Pretty neat lookin' little package...

Would definitely need a tapered expander. I borrowed the regular expander from my 6mm Rem. sizing die and
put it on the decapping rod in a type s 22-250 sizer.......it worked but not smooth at all even with plenty of
    imperial sizing lube.

No one here has any real world numbers for me?

Apache, thanks for the links! Already read through most of it....just hoping someone would have one.

trappst, maybe stevec will see this, but I was thinking he either has one or is about to build one as well. might try a PM, steve's a great guy and always willing to help out. Have to admit I think the 250 Savage case is one of those that looks good...starting to think about a plain ole 250 sometime next year (but can see that a 6mm-22-250 would have some appeal).

If you have access to old issues of Varmint Hunter Magazine Steve Timm wrote a great article on the 6mm-250. When I get time I'll see if I can find it.

Hmmm....I've got a stack of old issues at home but they don't go back very far. Guess it'll give me something to do this afternoon!

Unfortunately, to do this right I'm gonna need my own reamer, a new barrel and some other odds and ends. Guess I better start saving my pennies!

    Anybody got a #3 contour 12-14 twist 6mm blank laying around? ;D

These are the ones I could find right away:

BTW Brunos has some kind of special going on with their 6mm barrels........I think ??? .......If you call, ask to make sure. It seems I remember reading about it somewhere.

Let me know if I can help.

Yep, Bruno's is having a sale on their Krieger gain twist barrels.......too bad they're all varmint/BR contours. I don't want anything that heavy.

Measured my neck diameter loaded with the 70g Nosler. I only made one case but it's .268-269" using a cheap electronic caliper. Brass must have thinned out during the neck up. I'd prefer a no turn neck but I don't wanna limit myself to the winnie brass I have.....wonder what the Lapua 22-250 brass will be in terms of neck thickness.

Trappst, I have a 6-250 AI that I use for F-class. It is an 8 twist and I never shot anything lighter than 95gr bergers. But with 115gr Dtacs,107 SMKs, and 105 Amax it shoots great, great little round with good barrel life. I got well over 2500rnds down mine before it wasnt competative any more. I need to get another barrel but I keep blowing my cash elswhere!

My buddy shoots the 6x47 L in Fclass. It comes in around 200fps slower than the 6-250 AI, with the same bullet wieghts. Both are very accurate and easy to load for. I neck 22-250 up and fireform. Never was happy with Rem 250sav brass. Cant wait till Lapua 22-250 brass is available!

Should be a litle easier to neck down 250 brass than to neck up 22-250 brass. Thought about this one myself a few time. I like the 250 cartridge. Think it would make a sporty little 7MM project too.

I havent had any trouble necking up 22-250 brass. The necks are not straight but the first firing takes care of that.

I also anneal after the first firing. I have lost very few cases though.

I like the 6x47L idea. I already have a 1in12 twist 6br and a .243 tho so i can't see spending money on dies and brass.
