    Savage M23 in .32-20

Saw one of these at a gun show. It had been drilled and tapped here and there, but the bore was perfect. Reason I didn't buy was the trigger had been messed with and was very light and "unfirm." Quick check at Numrich shows virtually no parts available for these old guys. Anyone have experience with smithing/tweaking the Model 23? Parts sources?

Best guess would be a missing trigger spring but you couldn't know until you took it apart.

Maybe you were checking in the wrong place on e-gunparts?

Triggers, springs, sears, etc. in stock.

Eric: Well I'll be dipped in sheep dip and dried with hay! I could swear Numrich didn't have but a couple of parts when I first checked, so I must have specified the wrong rifle. Looks like my wallet is about to take another hit ... ::)

You probably looked for the M23 (22 LR) - down at the bottom of the Savage list is the 23C (what you are looking for).
